Developers of software tools for molecular discovery
in pharmaceutics and biotechnology.
Pharma Algorithms was initiated as an investigational project in 1999
by Alanas Petrauskas, Ph.D, founder of Advanced Chemistry Development,
Inc. and a leading expert in the development of models for calculating
various phys-chem properties such as logP, pKa, logD, and solubility.
The project was shaped by the necessity to bring the in Silico environment
to parity with HTS capabilities currently in-use for the discovery of
novel drugs and agro-chemicals. Paired with this technology gap was
the critical need for development companies to work with their proprietary
data in house. The goals of the company were then defined provide robust
software tools for the analysis, screening, and algorithm development.
Pharma Algorithms company offices are located in Toronto, Canada with
a European Sales and Development office in Vilnius, Lithuania. The company
maintains a diverse staff of medicinal chemists, computational chemists
and specialists in statistical modelling. Located nearby, the PA software
developers maintain an ongoing rapport with the Faculty of Chemistry
of 420 year-old Vilnius University.
